James walked with his parents to platform nine and three quarters. He made sure that he stayed was a good couple of yards ahead of them, so as no one would realize that they were together. When he reached the barrier between platforms nine and ten, he wished them a curt goodbye and disappeared through the bricks without a trace. The place on the other side was teeming with children and parents. James was taller than most other people and tried to use his height to scout out his friends. Across the mass of people, James spotted his mousey friend Peter. He weaved in and out of people, making his way towards his friend.
"Hey, how’ve you been?" asked James.
"Not too bad," replied Peter. "Have you seen Sirius or Remus?"
James shook his head, "No. Have you seen Lily?"
Peter shook his head as well, "No."

Sirius entered the platform and wandered around looking for his friends. He soon spotted them and went over to them. "Hey James, Peter. ENjoy your summers?" he asked.
Severus was on the platform. He just stood in one spot looking for Lily.

"Sirius!" James exclaimed turning away from Peter, "I had a great summer? How about you?"
James was a little worried, not expecting that Sirius's summer had been quite as good as his.
Peter took a step backwards and just smiled as if he was some decorative object in the background.

Sirius shrugged. "The usual. It's just good to be getting back to Hogwarts." Sirius said.

"That's good. The family wasn't too hard on you then?" James smiled.
Peter checked his watch to make sure that the Hogwarts express wasn't going to leave with out them. They had plenty of time, it was only ten thirty.

Sirius frowned. "I wouldn't say that." He said. He shook his head. "One of these days I'm just going to get up and leave."

"If things ever get too hard, you know you can always come stay at my place." James said, trying to sound comforting.
Peter checked his watch again, just incase time decided to miraculously speed up.

"I might have to take you up on that offer." Sirius said. He gave James a smile. "So did you contact Lily at all over the summer. Get any closer to that smoochy smoochy you've been dreaming about?" Surius nudged James with his elbow.

"I sent her a few letters. But the darned owl must have gotten confused and showed up at the wrong house because I didn't get anything written back to me." James said a little disappointedly.

Sirius shrugged. "She'll come around." he said and gave him a smile. "But if she tries killing you you might want to give her some space. Just saying."

"What? No. She loves me. How could she not when I look this hot? She's just playing hard to get, that's all."
Peter sniggered, but he didn't think anybody noticed.

"I'm not saying she doesn't love you. I'm just saying all her bottled up love could drive her crazy." Sirius said. He was obviously just humoring James

"Yeah, I suppose you're right. At least you can understand the complicated mind that is the female gender. Remus actually believes that she hates me as much as she says she does... Speaking of Remus, where is the old dog?"
Peter looked up, away from his watch and looked around the train station, expecting Remus to materialize infront of his eyes.

Lily said good-bye to both her mother and father. Tuney had bothered to come this time. She spotted Severus. "Sev!" she called going over to him. "Summer go alright?" she grinned at her best friend.

Severus smiled at her. "Yeah. My summer was pretty good. How was yours?"
Sirius shrugged. "I haven't seen him yet. He's probably around her somewhere though." Sirius said
