"Do you know what we actuall DO in these meetings? they sound so boring to me..." Ian said, stretching his arms as he walked.
"Wow! I thought salamanders were dangerous though!" Richelle said, looking closer at the cage.

"Um, I think we just find out what we have to do, and stuff. Oh, and we probably find out our common room password," Tom replied.
"Oh yeah. A little. If you don't know how to take care of them. But they die really easily," said Ash.
Dylan tried to coax his cat out of the cage.

"Well, that's anti-climactic." Ian said, bored.
"Oooh... so it needs constant attention?" Richelle asked, looking through the slits in the cage.

Tom shrugged and walked into the compartment in which the meeting was taking place. He took a seat.
"Yeah," said Ash. "They can't survive very long out of fire, so you constantly need a fire burning -- and they have a very picky diet."

"Gah...." Ian sighed, slouching in a relaxed position in the carriage.
"I wish I could have a cool pet like yours! My parents only let me have a cat... and they didn't let me bring him..." Richelle said, frowning.

"Hey Tom," Taylor sat next to her co-Gryffindor prefect.

Tom smirked. "You? Really? I was sure it was going to be Natalie. I didn't really think of you as prefect material," Tom teased. "Nah, just kiddding. Of course it would be you." He smiled.
"Well that sounds boring..." Ash said unenthusiastically.

"Oh, god. I hope someone else shows up. I think I might get sick with all the Gryffindor pride in here." Ian groaned, looking out the window.
"It is..." Richelle sighed.

Taylor rolled her eyes at Ian, who she did not get along well with. "You're summer was alright?" she asked Tom.

"Yeah, yeah," Tom said. "I played a lot of sports. It was good fun."
"Hmmm... well then," Ash said boredly.

"... Wanna play a game of Exploding Snap?" Richelle asked, bored as well.

"Sure," Ash said at the prospect of something to do. "Do you have the self-shuffling cards?"

"No, I find that those are for incredibly lazy people." Ricelle said, getting up and rummaging through her trunk.
((I don't like lazy people. Like when someone says "We need escalators in school instead of stairs", You lazy fatbut. you're the reason America is so freaking fat! ~ that is what I say to them.))

"No, they're not. How do you do it if they don't shuffle themselves? You have to flip over every card by hand? But that would take so long, and the person flipping the card could look at the card before it's fully flipped," Ash complained.

"... Unless you're a freaking ninja, or fully bent on cheating, I don't think that you'd be able to see it." Richelle said, taking the pack of cards out of her pocket.
