Elle looked back down at her lap. If she had many conversations, this is how they'd go. She felt extremely awkward talking to him, yet more natural than other people. When's the train going to get there...

Tom kept reading. He was grateful thety really only talked about her and kept the subject off him. At least this way she didn't suspect anything.
