Tom watched Alex and her friends walk off. He had his usual unreadable expression. He shook his head. "Typical Malfoy." He said to himself and headed to the Great hall.
Scorpius picked at the wood of the table.

Shuddering, before forgetting running into Tom completely, Alex shrieked and sat next to her four closest Slytherin friends. They animatedly talked to each other, waiting for the first years to arrive.
Elle sat there.

Tom looked for a seat. He sat in a random spot at the slytherin table and gave an acknowledging nod to those he was sitting by.

James and Al sat together at the Gryffindor table waiting for the sorting ceremony to begin.

The sorting ceremony began. People started getting sorted, one after the other. Al and James sat waiting for their sister's turn. When finally it came they held their breath. As much as they wanted their sister to be a gryffindor -- it would be nice if she wasn't. They wouldn't have to see her and put up with her annoyance as often.

Lily put on her brave-face and walked up and sat on the stool. The hat was put on her head and she shut her eyes tightly, wanting to be in Gryffindor like the rest of her family soo badly. After just a few seconds the hat screamed "GRYFFINDOR!" With a huge grin on her face she took her place across from her brothers as she was congratulated by a bajillion people she didn't know. Being the third Potter in the family, the shock of having another famous person's child at Hogwarts was barely a big deal at all, but everyone knew who she was anyway.

Albus smiled broadly and applauded while James let out a large (fake) groan. When their sister came over, Albus gave her a big highfive and congratulated her. James smiled and said "Way to go sis."

"So what'dya think of Hogwarts?" asked Al. "I remember the first time walking through those doors. This is a big castle. You're going to love it -- I still find new passages and staircases every day. If you talk to the portraits and get to know them, a lot of them are actually the guardians of shortcuts that are behind them. It will save you a lot of time, if you're running late for class if you're friends with a picture."
James nodded awkwardly, "Or you could make friends with real people instead of drawings."

Dominique sat proudly at the Ravenclaw table with her Prefect badge on her chest but instead of sitting with her fifth Classmates, but with her Fellow Prefect Simon and the new first years welcoming them the Hogwarts and Ravenclaw with and warm smile and a Handshake.
Pandora sat at the Slytherin table across from her cousins with her elbow rested on the table and her head on her hand watching the first years be sorted with a clearly bored expression on her face.
Reagan was sat at the Hufflepuff table with her classmates her and another girl discussing how cute all the first years were and cheering loudly as Hufflepuff gained a new student.
Fred was sat at the table not really paying attention and was more concerned with when the feast was going to start. He was in a world of his own when he heard the deputy Head Master Call Lily Potter as he swiftly turned around at the mention of his little cousin's name. When the hat cried Gryffindor "Yeah ya!" he bellowed with out realising a lot of people had turned to watch him. he caught the deputy Head's gaze, the balding man giving him a stern look which translated and 'Sit down and shut up' as he held up his hands and gave him a wide smile before returning to his seat. Once all the students had been housed he walked up and gave Lily a hug, "Well done Lils" he gave her a proud smile opened a bag he had managed to sly into the hall which was full of prank equipment, "James, we're going to have fun this term" he said with a mischievous smile.

Lily grinned and hugged Fred back. "Thanks," she beamed at him before turning back to Albus and James. "Yeah, Hogwarts seems great in about the two seconds I've been here," she laughed. "The Great Hall really is as fascinating as you said though," she said looking up a the night sky.

James smiled broadly at Fred and raised his eyebrows, "I sure hope so."
"It's really pretty, just wait until you see the Gryffindor common room." Al made a blissful moan. "It is absolutely stunning. But it's not just the common room. The architecture all throughout the school is amazing. I simply adore the Gothic vaults in the corridors."
James gave Al an incredibly weird look. He didn't think he had heard anyone talk so passionately about the castle's corridors. "Yeah, right," he said. "Just be careful going up and down stairs, sometimes there's a trick step and you can fall right through."

Fred gave his cousin a cheeky smile while pushing his dreadlocks out of his face, "Oh yeah, from my dad, he wants us to test some new products, of course just between the three of us because my mum would kick him half way to Timbuktu " he said quietly so only James could hear him, he then listened to Albus' talking about the school, "Eventually you get used to it" he said simply then turned to Lily "Oh yeah and Watch out for Peeves, he's a tricky little blighter"

Lily looked from Albus, to James, to Fred, taking note of what they were saying. She was secretly grateful to have family members here to make her first few weeks at Hogwarts easier.
Alex talked loudly with her friends and laughed and pointed over at Scorpius as she did her best at being an embarassing little sister.
Elle sat quietly by herself at the Ravenclaw table. She found herself looking over at Tom, curiously.
