"Oh!" a grin crossed Peter's face and he laughed. "Right, let's do this." He thrust the bag of plant food into Ashley's hand. He wasn't exactly sure what he was supposed to do with it. Peter wasn't very good at herbology.

Ashley rolled the still-wet cotton ball in the plant food, then looked around for another plant to put it in. "Who's Fanged Geranium do you think we should impregnate?"

Ashley hesitated. That Sirius guy had been a jerk the last class, and Remus was a Prefect and hadn't done anything about it.... But if Peter was with her, they'd probably be nice to her. He was their friend. "Sure."
Remus heard a voice behind him. "Excuse me." he turned around, and it was that Ashley girl. "Can we pollinate your Fanged Geranium?"
"Okay, go ahead." he replied.

((That actually made me laugh a lot for some reason.))
Ashley tossed the cotton ball into the "mouth" of Remus and Sirius' Fanged Geranium. It took a moment for it to swallow it. "Okay, done." she said, "We're supposed to all observe it now, right?"
"That is what Professor Sprout said," agreed Remus.

"Oh, right." said Remus, "Ashley, how did you do it?"
"First, put cotton in the mouth of the Fanged Geranium."
Remus did as he was told.
"Then, when it spits it out-"
-The Fanged Geranium spat out the cotton ball-
"- You examine to see if there's any pollen on it. Yes, that's some. Now roll it in some plant food."
Remus did so.
"Then bring it over to our Fanged Geranium and feed it the cotton."
He fed their Fanged Geranium the food. "Wow. That wasn't so hard. How'd you figure it out so fast?"
"Oh, well, I tinker around with Muggle plants at home, sometimes..."

Peter nodded. "That's cool. So now what?" He looked intently at the geranium. "Do we just sit and stare at it now?"

Sirius stood ther and looked pretty. Sure he could have been useful and helpping but that would require energy that he used in the last cass to entertain himself

"Okay, I'll ask Professor Sprout." replied Ashley.
She went up to the front of the greenhouse. "Professor? When we're observing the fertilized Fanged Geraniums, what are we supposed to be, er, observing?"
"Well, it won't happen right away, but you'll be looking at the leaves. They wilt slightly after impregnation, but don't worry. It means you're on the right track."
"Okay. Thank you, Professor." Ashley made her way back to her table.
